Lame! started in my mind. I began thinking about the possibility of doing a solo performance in 2023. I even applyed to Rumos and began the process in March 2024, when I did a first raw, unpolished presentation at Farofa. Since then, I’ve been rehearsing and dissecting it, dissecting the word "capenga," (in English, “lame”) its meaning, and even going beyond that, to explore the interpretation of the word, the sensations, and movements it evokes in my body.

So, the beginning was researching the dramaturgy of movement based on the word "capenga," breaking down the word, looking at synonyms, sensations, etc. Now I’m in the technology phase, using sensors. My idea is to create a "capenga" soundtrack along with the movement, using motion sensors on my body that trigger sounds, samples, and samplers. Right now, I’m moving back into the dramaturgy of movement, trying to understand how technology can work alongside this dramaturgy of movement. It’s been a very intense process, especially in the last month, when I’ve been deeply immersed in technology. I’m constantly thinking about Lame, feeling it resonate in my body. Sometimes, when I’m washing dishes, I get ideas and sensations of movement, and I practice them. I rehearse that movement that my body is feeling, so it’s not only in the rehearsal room — it’s in life, in the day-to-day. And that’s it.
