Hello, hello, this is Legina talking aboutWander, a street performance that explores theresistance of marginalized bodies in urban spaces. We draw inspiration fromAn Apartment onUranus, a book of chronicles by Paul B. Preciado. The work brings to light issues of identity, intimacy, and spectacularization, crossingliterature with the experiences of the people in our company, which is made up exclusively oftrans, Black, Indigenous, disabled, and LGBTQIAPN+ individuals. The performance has a fragmented and dreamlike narrative, and we experiment byinviting the audience into a more sensory andpoetic experience, aiming to break away fromthe traditional activism aesthetics typically expected from a group like ours, due to the identitiesof the people in our collective. I think that’s a quick summary. Thanks, see you soon!
Bio:
TRUPE EM TRÂNSITO is a street theater group that emerged in early 2023 from a territorialmovement aimed at occupying public spaces in the eastern region of São Paulo. Its mission is to fill squares and parks with art and culture while prioritizing the presence of local artists, people with disabilities, LGBTQIAPN+ individuals, and non-white communities. In 2024, the group began occupying Praça Goiânia, near the Patriarca – Vila Ré station, activating the space with rehearsals, poetry slams, artistic interventions, and free performances. That same year, the play "DESCAMINHOS" was created through the VAI Program, with open rehearsals presented in cultural spaces across the East Zone.
