A FAROFA DO PROCESSO reaches its 9th edition with a new feature: the showcase now takes place at the Funarte SP Cultural Complex, which includes four rooms, an inner courtyard, and the Eugênio Kusnet Arena Theater. The free event happens in parallel with MITsp – Mostra Internacional de Teatro de São Paulo, both taking place from March 13 to 23.
This year, the audience will experience an intense and diverse program featuring over 60 artistic processes, including recent creations and works in progress. Sessions will be held throughout the day, divided into morning, afternoon, and evening, from 11 AM to 10 PM.
FAROFA focuses on the most vibrant aspects of contemporary artistic processes, fostering the emergence of new forms of creation. The program also includes performances—out of the five featured in this edition, four were part of the previous edition as works in progress. Since its inception, FAROFA has maintained a dynamic schedule, subject to change throughout its 11 days of activities. The entire program includes accessibility resources.
To enhance the audience experience, the event also features roundtable discussions, talks, meetings with curators, and networking points. The idea is to take this opportunity to discuss topics related to creation, distribution, circulation, mediation, and production in the arts.

Farofa was born in 2020 as "FarOFFa – São Paulo Parallel Arts Circuit", sparked by a provocation from MITsp – Mostra Internacional de Teatro de São Paulo. With a focus on work processes and internationalization, it was created by the producers of Corpo Rastreado. That same year, already amid the pandemic, the collective launched its 2nd edition, "FarOFFa no Sofá", diving into reflections on the memory of the performing arts.
The year 2021 was marked by two editions: the 3rd edition, "OcupAÇÃO FarOFFa," which brought together around 100 producers over four days, and the 4th edition, "FarOFFa a Mil," which crossed borders and arrived in Santiago, participating in Platea 21, an international gathering of programmers and performing arts professionals, as part of the Santiago a Mil Festival.
In 2022, the 5th edition, "Dispositivo FarOFFa," took place in a one-on-one format—held in backyards, streets, gardens, or squares—where an artist and an audience member met to share and listen to stories. That year also saw the 6th edition, "FarOFFa do Processo 2022," which brought together artistic research at different stages and perspectives.
After experimenting with multiple formats, the 7th edition (2023), "FarOFFa Zona," was launched. Its dynamic involved opening the doors of the Kombi "Joyce Sunshine" and setting off through São Paulo, engaging with various contexts and fostering collective creation.
By 2024, Farofa took on new forms, leading to the decision to drop the two "Fs" from its name.

ACCESSIBILITY AT FAROFA
Our approach to accessibility is at the forefront, driven by the need to communicate in an experimental way with the goal of engaging audiences, regardless of their barriers. In this edition, Farofa do Processo will implement actions and provide tools to maximize accessibility and inclusion for a diverse range of audiences, following international guidelines and recent UN resolutions.
Under the coordination of Vanessa Bruna (Incluir pela Arte), a specialist in accessibility, the showcase brings together a team of nine professionals who will be available daily—morning, afternoon, and evening—for support, actions, and conversations with different audiences. Audio description will be integrated into some artistic processes, as well as Brazilian Sign Language (Libras).
For neurodivergent audiences, Farofa do Processo will provide noise-canceling ear protectors and glasses to shield against strong lights and sudden changes in illumination, which can directly impact autistic individuals and people with epilepsy. Additionally, artistic processes are designed to minimize potential discomfort, ensuring a more inclusive experience for all.
