Audio Transcribed
Drop Dead Beautiful is conceived as a film-performance, working across multiple layers of creation. At its core, there is a narrative audio guide that unfolds the history of beauty—how it has been constructed over time and how this construction also leads to violence, particularly in the way the female body is perceived.
To explore this, we develop various creative layers in conjunction with this audio. Beyond serving as the guiding thread, the audio interacts with choreographed movement, where we dive into a movement research focused on pauses, poses, and the creation of a languid, dragged-out, dreamlike universe. This is further articulated with a video layer, incorporating elements inspired by advertising, painting, and pop culture references that have shaped visual aesthetics over time.
Our initial visual motif for discussing beauty is the complementary color pair orange and blue. This leads us to explore the magic hour, that fleeting moment of the day when colors reach equilibrium, creating a visually harmonious atmosphere. Through this interplay of orange and blue, we aim to evoke elevation, enchantment, a sense of intoxication—an overwhelming visual indulgence.
Bio:
The duo has been working together since 2019 on projects at the intersection of body arts, audiovisual, and visual arts, in a continuous research around color and the creation of a language that combines word, image, gesture, and movement. They have been developing their own vocabulary through the experimentation of working "with two hands." They aim to affirm the role of the artist-researcher who passes through various stages of an artistic process, from its conception to its completion. They identify the interdisciplinarity of media and languages as their primary area of action. Their works have led to an idea of complementarity, support, opposition, pairs, composition, and feedback. Among their authored works are the film performance "Lindo-de-Morrer" (2025), resident at Casa Belgrado in Buenos Aires, and the video installation "Conquistar o mundo, viver de nada, virar fantasma" (2023), selected by Sesc Pulsar to occupy the gallery of Sesc Copacabana.
