Manifesto Papangu is about comming together, is about two artists who, starting from their own poetics and ways of thinking about dance, come together to build a force field, a trench of care. Manifesto Papangu represents two fighting roosters, who find in unity a way to dance together, a way to dance as two.
Bio:
Alexandre Américo is a Caiçara and neurodivergent artist, dance researcher, and PhD candidate in Education. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Dance and a Master's degree from PPGARC, both from UFRN. Through a racialized and accessibility-focused perspective, his work in contemporary art research explores performative structures, improvisation, and their counter-colonial dramaturgical developments. He was a guest PhD student in Media Studies at UFRN (2021) and served as Artistic Director of Cia Giradança (2018–2023) in Natal, RN. His interests include Cripistemology (disabled epistemology), particularly in collaboration with disabled artists from the outskirts of Natal, RN. In 2024, he founded TORTA, a platform for expanded art. Additionally, he contributes to PORTAL MUD (SP) and FAROFA CRÍTICA (RN) through critical text production.
