I am Carlota Joaquina, an actress from the city of São Paulo. I am currently working on the Saliente 60/40 project—60 years of life and 40 years of career. My journey as an actress began in the outskirts of Brasilândia, Pirituba, Cruz das Almas, and Freguesia do Ó.
It has since expanded through collaborations with significant theater companies, such as Companhia São Jorge de Variedades — where it all started — and Companhia do Latão. As part of my project – I have also collaborated with Teatro Oficina, led by Zé Celso-- and today, I am involved with several important theater companies in the city. This year, this production is a celebration of my artistic journey.
The show is called Saliente precisely because of that—because I was always bold in the face of expectations that said I would never become an actress in this city. And I am incredibly happy to be part of this project, Farofas.
That’s basically it. Sending you a hug, and see you soon!
