Plotting - Routes for Invisible Bodies is a performance created by young transmasculine artists, and its central theme explores how the world of fungi relates to transmasculine experiences. We identify parallels, especially in terms of cooperation, invisibility, communication, and more fluid notions of identity, individuality, and collectivity, among other aspects.
To approach this theme, we use the language of performance, as well as theater and dance, blending these disciplines into a mix and inventing our own creative methods. Several elements contribute significantly to the dramaturgy, such as the soundtrack, which plays almost continuously throughout the performance and serves as a key trigger for the performers' movements. The use of lasers also plays an important role in the scenography, which has an installation-like premise—telling a story on its own, setting the mood, and inviting the audience to step into this fungal, humid environment with us.
This is a highly sensorial experience, filled with visual, auditory, and even olfactory stimuli. It is also a highly flexible work, easily adaptable to different spaces, formats, technical structure, and durations. Beyond raising questions about gender, the piece also engages with themes of ecology, interspecies interaction, and serves as a powerful celebration of our existence and subjectivities as transmasculine individuals.
Bio:
The Coletivo Tramoias is a group of young transmasculine artists based in São Paulo, founded in 2024, dedicated to research and experimentation in the performing arts. Their first work, the performance Tramar - Rotas para Corpos Invisíveis, premiered in June 2024 and toured through emblematic cultural spaces in the city, such as the Mário de Andrade Library and the Arena Theater. Through a collaborative approach, the artists weave diverse languages, such as performance, theater, and dance, combining elements like sound, installation, laser, light, and writing to create an abundant and multifaceted scenic ecosystem.
