Find a Way to Meet me in The Future – A Conversation Between Zumbi and Besouro is a theatrical production conceived by Oda Silva, directed by Marina Esteves, and written by Rafa Cristiano. The play’s intent is to subvert, radicalize, and defy the stereotypes imposed upon the figures of Zumbi dos Palmares and Besouro Mangangá, two historical figures of immense significance within Brazil’s timeline.
The production is deeply rooted in Afro-minimalism, a research-driven artistic language developed by director Marina Esteves. Within both the stage design and dramaturgy, Zumbi and Besouro transcend the bounds of reality.
They resurrect in the here and now, experience a romance, and begin to denounce and intellectualize the movements of the present moment.
